un-vape A studio product for clinicians Set up

Make the automatic visible.

A between-session tool that catches the moment before the pull becomes automatic. You brand it. Your client owns every record.

No client data ever reaches you. Sharing is theirs to start.
Why this matters now
  1. 01 Intent
    0%

of adults who currently vape already plan to quit. Far fewer act on it in any given year.

Palmer et al., JAMA Network Open, 2021 (PATH study)

  2. 02 Moment
    Before the pull

The useful record is often the second before use becomes automatic.

    un-vape product model

  3. 03 Recall
    Memory drifts

Recalled lapses, twelve weeks on, bent toward how people felt at the time, not what actually happened.

Shiffman et al., Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1997

  4. 04 Architecture
    0

records leave your client’s phone unless they choose to share one themselves.

    un-vape architecture, by design

The shape of it

What un-vape is, and isn’t.

Positioning, set out plainly.

It is.
What you can promise a client
  • A pause before the pull.
  • A record the client owns, on their phone only.
  • An artifact they print to PDF and bring to session.
  • Yours to brand and hand off.
  • A bridge between sessions, shared only when the client chooses.
It is not.
What it specifically refuses to be
  • A quit app.
  • A tracker. No streaks. No scores.
  • A coach dashboard. You see nothing they don’t hand you.
  • A motivation engine.
  • A chatbot. A conversation with software.
Inside the app

What your client actually opens.

Real screens from the live PWA. Each surface does one thing.

The Now surface
Now
The pause. Catch the moment before the pull.
The Patterns surface
Patterns
Their loops, described back. Never scored.
The Tools surface
Tools
In-the-moment supports for active cravings.

Learn (short reads on the loop and the moment) and Watch (dated market intelligence on the nicotine product landscape) round out the app. Watch joins the nav when its feed is live; we don’t put unbuilt features on the landing.

Why a PWA

Not an app store app. Not a worksheet. A web app you install.

The technology choice is part of the positioning.

Your client should not need a vendor account to notice when they vape. Their data should not live on a server. You should not have to invite a vendor into your between-session work. un-vape uses a Progressive Web App, the same technology Spotify, Pinterest, and Uber use for lightweight installs. A client scans, opens, and starts noticing within ten seconds. No download. No account. No data sent off the phone.

Option 1

A paper worksheet.

What most practitioners hand out today. Cheap, but only captures what the client remembers in session, not the moment itself.

  • Filled in from memory, after the fact
  • Easy to lose, forget, leave behind
  • No prompt at the moment of the pull
  • Records only what the client agrees to write down
Option 2

A consumer app from the App Store.

Quit Genius, Smoke Free, the rest. Native apps require a download, an account, and route data to a vendor server.

  • 50+ MB download, app store review
  • Requires creating an account on someone else’s server
  • Data goes to the vendor, not the client
  • The clinician isn’t part of it, has no role
The actual path, in four steps.
From a QR you hand over to an icon on their home screen. No app store. No account. No trace.
1
You hand them a QR code.
In session, on a card, or as a link.
2
It opens in their browser.
Instantly. No download, no app store.
3
They use the four surfaces.
Now, Patterns, Learn, Tools. Data on-device.
How the model works

You brand it. They use it. They share, by PDF, on their terms.

Three moves. The third is the part no competitor offers.

1
You sign up and brand your install page.
Name, accent, logo, one welcome line. A subdomain you share. Five minutes.
2
They install and record privately.
No account. Data stays on their phone. You see nothing automatically.
3
They print a share artifact when they choose.
A reflection-led PDF they bring to session. That is the only data channel between you.

A practitioner, a session. The PDF carries the conversation back to the room.

Private to you. Northside Therapy cannot see what you record.
Built on un-vape by Studio Sof. No third-party trackers.

The page lives at northside.un-vape.com. Clients scan the QR, tap Add to this phone, and the PWA installs. The accent, name, and welcome line are yours. The trust line is non-negotiable.

Inside, your client finds you.

The app carries your name, your welcome line, and how to reach you. Your client sees you on the support screen, alongside the line that they own their records. They see you. You never see them. The bridge runs one way, by their choice.

This is what you get. A dashboard to configure. A subdomain to share. An install page your clients open with your name on it.

The white-label payoff

Your logo, on their home screen.

They scan the QR you hand them, tap once, and your practice lives on their phone between every session.

Before you sign up

Four questions a clinician should ask.

Answered the way we’d answer in session.

Is this HIPAA or PIPEDA compliant?
No PHI is transmitted. The PWA stores everything on the client’s device. We never see what they record. The only data channel is the PDF they choose to print and hand you, the same as a journal page or a verbal report. Treat that PDF inside your existing records workflow.
What if my client loses their phone?
Their data is gone with it. We hold no copy. For most clients this is the right tradeoff: nothing about their nicotine use exists outside their pocket. If you want continuity, ask them to print a share artifact at intervals.
Is un-vape a clinical intervention?
No, and that’s the point. un-vape lives in the space between your sessions. It is not a quit program, not a crisis tool, not a substitute for clinical work. It catches what your client cannot bring back to you intact: the moment before the pull.
How do I cancel?
One click in your dashboard. Your install page pauses within minutes. Clients who already installed the PWA keep their on-device data because we never held a copy. No clawback, no termination fee.
Built for the practitioner

The tool you wished you had time to build.

You are a clinician, not a developer. So we built it, and made it yours to hand out.

You have wanted to send your clients home with something real. Not another worksheet. A tool they actually open in the moment. But there was never the time, or the team, to build one. So we did. You brand it once and give it to every client, the same afternoon you decide to.

Grounded in the research.
Built on what is known about craving, attention, and the automatic loop. Not motivational filler.
Branded as yours.
Your name, your palette, your page. The client sees your practice, not ours.
Yours without surveillance.
The client owns every record, on their phone. Nothing about them reaches you unless they hand it to you.

The hard part is done. The part that matters, the relationship, stays yours.
